L&P Offering Incentives for Furnace Upgrades and More


(Traverse City, Michigan) —Traverse City Light & Power (TCL&P) is offering significant rebates to residential customers when they upgrade their home’s heating and cooling systems to more energy-efficient models, along with other HVAC-related upgrades.


            The available HVAC incentives include:

·        $150 incentive for upgrading a furnace to an energy-efficient model that includes anElectronically Commutated Motor (ECM).

·        $15.00 rebate for purchasing an ENERGY STAR® qualified dehumidifier, which can use up to 15 percent less energy than a standard unit to remove the same amount of moisture from your room.

·        $15.00 rebate for purchasing an ENERGY STAR® qualified room air conditioner, which can save at least 10 percent on your energy bill when compared to a conventional unit.

·         $150 rebate for upgrading a central air conditioning unit to one with a 16 seasonalenergy efficiency rating (SEER), which can save up to 15 percent on the typical energy bill. Other rebates are available for different SEER listings.


In addition to the TCL&P rebates, residential customers are encouraged to look intoother state incentive programs, as well as the federal tax credits that are available.
