Decorative Streetlight Pole Inspection & Painting
Traverse City, MI – Motorists, bikers, and pedestrians should be aware that Traverse City Light & Power’s contractor, National Coatings, Inc., will be painting the decorative streetlight poles beginning May 1, 2015. Safety inspections of the poles will also be done during this time. The project will begin with Boardman Neighborhood and progress to the Oak Park and Central Neighborhoods with a total of 313 poles to be painted. Every effort will be made to keep the impact on the affected areas at a minimum; however, some parking spots will be used to facilitate the work around the streetlight poles throughout the course of the project.
The project is expected to be complete by October 31, 2015.
Please be advised that placing items on streetlight poles is prohibited for safety reasons. Any items found will be removed.
Unfortunately, this work will create a minimal level of noise and cause some inconvenience. We would like to thank you in advance for your patience and cooperation. Please contact Tom Olney, Operations & Engineering Manager, at 231-932-4550 if you have any questions or concerns about the work or schedule.
