City Commission Appoints New TCL&P Board Member
(Traverse City, Michigan) — The Traverse City City Commission appointed Ross Hammersley to serve on the Traverse City Light & Power (TCL&P) Board at its April 3, 2017 meeting. Hammersley is filling the expired term of Bob Spence who did not seek reappointment.
“It is important to continue to have TCL&P offer reliable service at a low cost,” said Ross Hammersley. “As a Board member I will do what I can to support staff in maintaining a well-functioning system. I am also looking forward to continuing the City and TCL&P’s leadership efforts on energy efficiency and renewable energy by taking advantage of opportunities that benefit our community.”
Hammersley has an undergraduate degree from University of Michigan’s School of Natural Resources & Environment, and a law degree from Michigan State University. He specializes in municipal and environmental law, oil & gas leases, renewable energy, land use and real estate. Currently he practices law with Olson, Bzdok & Howard, P.C. in Traverse City. Ross has been a resident of Traverse City since 2010.
Ross Hammersley’s term on the TCL&P Board will expire on April 4, 2022.
